Emergency Department Technician (AM) - Vista Health (Brownwood, TX)

The Emergency Department Technician performs routine duties within the limits of documented training for the emergency department patient.
The care is rendered under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
The Emergency Department Technician/Unit Secretary performs clerical and receptionist duties in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
He/she facilitates the information flow to/from and in the Emergency Department.
He/she records and documents EKG rhythm strips and recognizes variances from patient's normal rate and rhythm.
Gathers patient information for emergency room patients in the functional areas of admissions, discharges, insurance verification and emergency room treatment records.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
EMS certification, secretarial course, computer skills, data entry, order entry, business machines, and medical terminology preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience preferred.
Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written and telephone skills.
Fluent in English.
Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as a nursing assistance, EMT, monitor tech, or unit secretary, preferably in the area of application.
Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of an RN.
Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
Licenses/Certificates:
Current BLS/CPR and must be American Heart Association.
EKG rhythm interpretation course within six months of hire.
Must maintain any other requirements for each specific department.
Must complete required department competencies and maintain through annual review.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
