Crude Oil Field Supervisor/s

The basic function of the Field Supervisor is to manage the day to day operations of transporting products to meet facility and customer needs.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Leases:
Obtains oil samples from lease tanks.
Ensures that samples give an accurate blend of entire volume of oil from lease tank.
Saves and correctly labels samples for later analysis as needed by marketers.
Always checks H2S, LEL, CO2 and O2 levels at leases.
Records any dangerous levels and informs district manager, dispatchers and marketers.
Checks leases for road access by crude tanker in adverse weather conditions.
Driver Training:
Ensures that drivers are compliant by reviewing CDL, endorsements and DOT medical card.
Instructs drivers in spill prevention, spill containment and spill reporting.
Instructs drivers in use of four-way gas monitor.
Gives drivers a list of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required at leases and various unloading facilities.
Requires that drivers watch Power Point presentation addressing crude oil tank gauging.
Reviews crude oil tank gauging techniques and ensures that drivers understand gauging procedure and gauging equipment.
Supplies samples of load tickets and explains accurate completion of tickets to drivers.
Supplies list of which tickets to leave lease and unloading stations to drivers.
Supplies phone list of spill reporting numbers, emergency numbers, dispatch and pumper cell numbers to drivers.
Instructs drivers in obtaining proper lease information for dispatched loads.
Supplies list of gauging and loading equipment needed to complete oil loading.
Repeats two previous steps until required skill levels are met.
Ensures that drivers are loading marketable oil by spot-checking load tickets.
Drivers/Trucks:
Transports the drivers for drug and alcohol testing.
Conducts spot checks of drivers (3rd party and HSE) at various stations, which includes quality and quantity of oil, DOT compliance (truck and trailer) and PPE and notifies District Manager of any issues.
Communicates with the Driver personnel on a regular basis.
Assists Driver personnel with securing additional supplies (i.
e.
paper, PPE, etc.
).
Coordinates towing of truck as needed.
Fills in as transport driver on an as needed basis.
Road tests new drivers who are applying for positions.
Ensures a safe, clean work environment for stations/offload areas.
Customer Service:
Resolves measurement issues with customers.
Reports any customer complaints to District Manager.
Miscellaneous:
Ensures cross training of other Field Supervisors on driver training, computers, etc.
Ensures staffing coverage is adequate throughout their district.
Has a basic working knowledge of the TREQ (TouchStar) hardware and software.
Trains other Field Supervisors on crude oil gauging and safe loading techniques.
May assist in dispatch when necessary.
Performs various duties including light housekeeping, weed control, shop cleaning as needed.
May perform light maintenance and repairs on trucks when mechanics are off duty.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
