Hardware Support Technician Tracking Code 20140120 Job Description Configures, tests, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs irrigation computers and proprietary communication interface devices. Obtains all necessary hardware and software to recover customer data from returned computers. Monitors failures and required repairs for trend analysis and recommends appropriate changes. Required Skills Performs necessary repairs and tests on returned computers, computer components and peripherals, and proprietary communication interface devices. Coordinates with other Toro repair personnel and facilities for parts, information, and repairs not locally available. Monitors RMA inve
ntory levels and adjusts repair priorities to ensure adequate supply of replacement units. Responsible for evaluation of hardware and software packages, programs, and equipment and their implementation associated with NSN. Required Experience Education:
A
Certification, Associates Degree in Computer Science, Associate of Science in Electronics Technology or similar degree, Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
At least three (3) to five (5) years experience in related industry or environment. Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and reasoning abilities for equipment and component failure and ability to determine failure cause and effect. Must be able to isolate equipment failures to component level and determine the cause. Able to clearly explain relationship and interaction between replaceable components. Computer Skills:
Strong technical skills in PC operating systems, applications, hardware systems, protocols, and software licenses. In-depth operating system and application knowledge and support experience required. Electronic Skills:
Strong knowledge of electronics and electronic components as well as demonstrated troubleshooting support experience required with proven hardware technical planning and development. The employee is required to sit and stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
