Summary:
The administrative assistant greets and assists guests, callers, employees, and applicants seeking Purchasing or Human Resources assistance.
Schedules appointments, prepares correspondence and relieves Business and Human Resources staff of clerical work and minor administrative duties by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible.
3.
Assists the AVPBHR with university human resources, purchasing, and budget control.
6.
Creates and maintains database and spreadsheet files.
7.
Prepares and posts Position Vacancy Notices on bulletin boards and various web sites.
8.
Maintains the Business and Human Resources page on the university website for position announcements and employment applications.
9.
Prepares and places newspaper and on:
line advertisements seeking applicants for vacant positions.
10.
Assists hiring departments by screening for qualified applicants from applicant pool.
11.
Conducts new employee orientation on benefits available to them and assists those employees with applications for benefits.
12.
Coordinates criminal background checks of new employees with a third:
party contracted vendor.
14.
Assists with payroll data entry and records maintenance.
17.
Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
19.
Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance.
