ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:
1) Maintain System Reliability.
Must be available for callout after hours and/or on weekends.
2) Assist field employees in troubleshooting, outage restoration, power quality and new/existing equipment training.
3) Troubleshoot and maintain distribution system equipment I.

Reclosers, Regulators, Capacitors, Auto-Switchgear, LTCs.
and other equipment.
4) Monitor distribution system and make corrections as needed concerning current balance, voltage and power factor.
5) Proficient in the use of a personal computer with working knowledge of MicroSoft applications to include word, excel, access and power point.
Must be able to learn additional computer applications related to the position.
6) Maintain accurate equipment records and distribution mapping.
7) Assist engineering, standards, dispatch and other departments concerning distribution system planning, equipment purchases and circuit accuracy.
8) Inspect the distribution system and acquire relevant system information from various sources to determine proper operation, and take corrective action if needed.
9) Display leadership behaviors in work processes involving both AEP employees and customers.
10) Prioritize system problems and adapt to work demands.

Qualifications:
Education requirements are listed below:
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Work Experience requirement listed below:
Minimum of 5 years experience in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demand level is Not Yet Determined 1.
Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.

Basic Understanding of Electricity 3.
Must be available by telephone or by Company-provided pager or cell phone.
4.
Must have passed the EEI Construction and Skills Trade test (CAST).
5.
Two year technical degree preferred.
6.
Must be willing to work overtime as required by job responsibilities.
7.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license, Class A CDL strongly preferred.
