Alliance After-School Care Reports to:
After School Care Program Director Overview After School Care (ASC) Assistant Director is a full-time, exempt position serving as support to the After School Care Program Director.
Two After School Care Assistant Directors are employed by the Alliance After School Care program and work in unison to provide consistent implementation of policies across all ASC sites.
Job Functions Assist the After School Care Program Director to ensure staff accountability to Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulations Minimum Standards Rules and After-School Care policies Complete and maintain Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulations documentation online and/or hard copy Ensure all staff complete required training hours and document training for Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulations and Texas Rising Star (TRS) Assist the After School Care Program Director with Texas Rising Star compliance and completion and maintenance of all documentation required Assist the After School Care Program Director with Food Program Assistance program compliance and completion and maintenance of all documentation required Assist the After School Care Program Director with staff recruitment and retention Assist the After School Care Program Director in providing quality hiring and training of staff Responsible under the direction of the After School Care Program Director for coordination of effective placement of daily taff schedule for assigned ASC sites Responsible for planning, ensuring adequate staffing and coordinating activities for all holiday camps, festivals, and events for After School Care Must provide excellent customer service and support for parents Serve as the primary contact and liaison under the direction of the program director with all principals and administrators at assigned ASC sites.
Responsible for responding to all behavior reports and child discipline issues for assigned ASC sites Keep ASC Program Director informed of any compliance issues or significant program risks be it program, location or client issue Keeping ASC Program Director informed of any activity that might impact the program or the schools to be accomplished in part by attending school board meetings in each school district and other meetings which may affect the program in the community.
Assist the After School Care Program Director in maintaining the vision of the After School Care program.
Support the After School Care Program Director in planning and organizing the program components of After School Care.
Responsible for implementation of program curriculum to include enhancement components at assigned ASC sites.
Build relationships with school personnel, staff, and parents, especially for assigned ASC site Assist the After School Care Program Director in beginning and end of year parent phone calls Assist the After School Care Program Director with all licensing visits Assist the After School Care Program Director with developing parent and partner surveys, distributing surveys, and collecting and compiling data Attend trainings including those required by the Child Care Regulations and TRS, and maintain required annual training hours for a director.
Trainings may be local or out of town.
Overnight travel may be required.
Attend fairs, seminars, and other outreach activities and professionally represent the organization Adhere to policies and procedures of the organization, including those related to health and safety, client confidentiality, and quality management Perform all other duties as assigned by the After School Care Program Director or Executive Director A-Teens
Responsibilities:
Prepares and directs A-Teens programming during the summer season and throughout the school year.
Some overnight travel and events may be required Oversees the organization and processing of A-Teens registration Communicate with parents regarding A-Teens activities Responsible for oversight and initiation of program curriculum and the implementation of such programming to include enrichment Prepare and maintain an annual program budget for review by the executive director and finance committee of the board of directors Prepare and maintain an annual program budget for review by the executive director and finance committee of the board of directors Must provide excellent customer service and support for parents MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must qualify for Child Care Director Certification through Business or Professional Child Care experience.
Maintain Directors License and fulfill all requirements necessary for licensure, including continuing education and training Minimum of 1 year experience in a licensed child care facility Hold or be willing to acquire CPR/First Aid Certification.
Flexible hours between 8:
00-6:
30 pm based on 37.
5-40 hours work week.
Must maintain a clear MVR.
Must be physically able to stand or sit for at least 3 hours at a time - lift or carry up to 25 pounds - hold a license to drive a vehicle - climb two flights of stairs KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of Child Care Regulations minimum standards and regulations.
Ability to plan, organize and direct multiple activities within a program.
Knowledge of a general budget Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Ability to develop short and long term goals.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and work in a collegial fashion with peers in other organizational units.

Knowledge of staff hiring procedures.
