Supervision:
- The job description and criteria based job performance evaluation emphasizes the criteria expected in the performance of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit Charge Nurse.
The PACU Charge Nurse is responsible for the functions of the performance of the job, harmonious rapport between the physicians, the patients, and other staff members.
The RN works closely with the PCMs of the Day Surgery Unit, the Maternal/Child Tract and the Surgical Unit, as well as Progressive Care, Medical/Telemetry, and Intensive Care Unit.
- Responsible for compliance with overall nursing practice standards of the specialty area (Reports to Department Patient Care Manager) - Responsible for compliance with standards during assigned shift (Reports to Administrative Supervisor) - Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed care givers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available Desired Qualifications One or more years experience in desired specialty National certifications in your specialty preferred License/Certifications License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas BCLS required (current at time of hire)/maintained throughout term of employment ACLS required within 6 months of hire/must have current ACLS to be a Charge Nurse /maintained throughout term of employment PALS required within 6 months of hire/must have current PALS to be a Charge Nurse /maintained throughout term of employment TNCC preferred Previous Cardiac/Telemetry experience preferred EKG Course preferred Source:
